Dr. McCormick was a featured speaker at the recent 37th Annual Joint Spine Section Annual Spine Summit meeting held in San Diego. He presented at the Innovative Technology Special Session: Operative Video Segments. His presentation was entitled “Intramedullary Tumor, Nuances in Technique.” The Joint Spine Section is sponsored by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and The American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Its mission is to advance the science and the practice of the evaluation and care of patients with disorders of the spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. The presentation was focused on intraoperative videos demonstrating the techniques of microsurgical removal of a cervical intramedullary spinal cord tumor. Dr McCormick narrated the videos, pointing out key issues of surgical strategies and techniques that he utilizes for safe resection of these tumors.
